Swap licenses + moving domains between two production servers

[Reposted here from Discord, since silence there.]

I have two production servers: A (Mini, 2 accounts) and B (Pro lifetime, 19 accounts). I want to move B’s accounts to A and swap the licenses, so Pro ends up on A and Mini on B. While B is being drained, A will cross the Mini’s 10-domain limit.

  1. Can a 30-day trial key be activated on A’s existing install (replacing the Mini) for the duration of the move?
  2. Or should I just swap right away, Mini to B and Pro to A? If so, what happens to the domains on B while it’s over the Mini’s limit until they’re moved: do they keep serving, or does something get suspended?
  3. Either way, do sites and mail keep serving during the license swap itself?

Thanks.

Provided a trial license hasn’t been issued to that IP within the last 60 days. These can be generated with a cURL request.

mv /usr/local/apnscp/config/license.{pem,bak}
curl -o /usr/local/apnscp/config/license.pem -A "apnscp bootstrapper" https://bootstrap.apiscp.com/
systemctl restart apiscp

Panel won’t boot, which will impact its API. The API is used exclusively for migration, so run a trial license on server A until done.

Yes. Migrations are always a 1:1 process.
